Theatre Workshop of Nantucket kicked off its production of Misery last week, bringing Stephen King’s classic psychological thriller to the island stage. In this “white-knuckle drama,” celebrated novelist Paul Sheldon finds himself at the mercy of his “number one fan,” Annie Wilkes, after a car crash leaves him stranded in her remote home. Gratitude quickly turns to horror as Annie demands he revive a character he intended to kill off, turning his recovery into a twisted battle of survival. Misery runs through Saturday, October 4 at Bennett Hall. AL Bundonis, Andrew Rein, and Sharon Wheatley are among the cast bringing the story to life on stage.
