Sandy strides

Purple was the theme at Nantucket Vineyard's inaugural Wine Run 5K, which drew walkers and runners of all ages to Cisco Brewers last weekend. The roughly three-mile stretch wound down Bartlett Farm Road and across the sandy terrain toward Miacomet Pond, treating participants to sweeping views of Nantucket's south shore. Overcast skies gave way to brief bursts of sunshine as runners crossed the finish line. Proceeds went to Nourish Nantucket in support of its efforts to address food insecurity on the island.
