With mostly sunny skies and warm breezes, conditions were favorable for the return of Nantucket Race Week, five days in August of regattas, parties, and award ceremonies to benefit Nantucket Community Sailing. Running August 13-17, the event marked its 22nd year on the water, with a schedule that closely followed previous iterations. Highlights included the colorful Rainbow Fleet Parade off Brant Point and the Wooden Boat Parade, culminating with the 53rd annual Opera House Cup for wooden boats. The cup is known far and wide as a premier race for wooden-hull sailboats.
