Corks were popping Wednesday night as the Nantucket Wine & Food Festival officially got underway. The welcome reception, held at the Nantucket Hotel, had all the ingredients of a good kickoff: flowing wine, savory bites, and a crowd that came ready to indulge. Festival owner Nancy Bean called this year "a fresh new perspective," and the evening made good on that promise with an elite crowd of foodies and oenophiles from around the world to sip and celebrate.
