New grads toss their hats

The Nantucket High School Class of 2026 said good-bye to high school in a ceremony last Friday, June 12, at Vito Capizzo Stadium, with 152 new graduates getting their diplomas. Commencement speaker Jennifer Foyle, the president and executive creative director of clothing retailer American Eagle and a regular visitor to Nantucket, stressed “human connection, human touch” in her speech. Valedictorian Jacob Heneke and salutatorian Danielle Lewis spoke encouraging words to their fellow graduates. Nantucket Public Schools Superintendent Beth Hallet congratulated the students for their accomplishments.
