Mill Street memories

PHOTOGRAPHY BY BILL HOENK

The August Fête, the annual fundraiser for the Nantucket Preservation Trust, has grown into one of the summer’s most memorable evenings for those who cherish the island’s historic architecture and neighborhoods. This year’s event, “Party ‘Til the Cows Come Home,” held on Thursday, August 8, invited guests to explore homes along Mill Street — a quiet corner of town steeped in island history. The evening continued at the Eleanor Ham Pony Field with food, drinks, and live music under a tent.
