Gold metal effort for Alzheimer’s

PHOTOGRAPHY BY SARA WILLIAMS

Olympic gold medalist AJ Mleczko Griswold brought the community together last week for the fifth annual Ice Out ALZ fundraiser at Cisco Brewers. Guests mingled over food and drinks, squared off in a cornhole tournament, and bid high in a live auction. Since its inception in 2019, the event has raised more than $1 million in support of the Alzheimer’s Association. The cause is a personal one for Mleczko — both her mother and grandmother have been affected by the disease.
