Island scholars shine

Two Nantucket High School seniors — Biliana Dountcheva and Cecelia Wendelken — are headed off to college with the ultimate sendoff, having been named the 2025 Nantucket Scholars. The big news came during a recent ceremony at the Nantucket Golf Club, where the pair received full four-year scholarships covering tuition and fees to the college or university of their choice. They were chosen from a group of 10 finalists after a months-long selection process that included interviews, public forums, and written essays.
