Nantucketers marked Juneteenth with a celebration at the African Meeting House on Wednesday. The afternoon included performances by Kezia Duarte, SheSheFoGo, Latulippe, and E-Cliff and the Swing Dogs, along with a screening of “Nantucket’s Historic Colored Cemetery: Stories Told by Nantucketers”. Other activities included lawn games, crafts, and a vendor marketplace. The Town of Nantucket, Museum of African American History, Nantucket Historical Association, and Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce organized the event.
