Fishing for a cure

The annual August Blues fishing tournament wrapped up Monday with an award ceremony and dinner at Miacomet Golf Club. The month-long event, held August 1–31, supports Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy, a non-profit dedicated to ending Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Gregory Chotkowski founded the tournament in 2023 in honor of his son August, who lives with the disease. As the tournament website notes, “Despite the challenges presented by this condition, August continues to exhibit a spirit that is nothing short of inspiring.”
