Escape to Margaritaville

When Escape to Margaritaville premiered on Broadway in 2018, audiences embraced its sunny island escape. This summer, the story finds a fitting new home on an island of its own, with Theatre Workshop of Nantucket opening its production of the Jimmy Buffett-inspired musical last week at Bennett Hall. On tap for audiences is a "tropical romantic comedy filled with laughter, heart, and over-the top fun," the show description reads. The plot weaves together themes of love and self-discovery, set to the infectious tunes of Jimmy Buffett. Directed by Justin Cerne and choreographed by Abbey O'Brien, Escape to Margaritaville runs roughly two hours and 15 minutes, including an intermission. The musical continues through Saturday, August 22, with tickets available online.
