Downtown in disguise

PHOTOGRAPHY BY BILL HOENK

Hundreds of costumed celebrants gathered downtown on Friday for the Nantucket’s annual Halloween parade. The afternoon kicked off with costume judging and a pumpkin carving contest, followed by a lively procession up Main Street and onto Centre Street. Along the route, local merchants greeted trick-or-treaters with candy and smiles. The event is organized by The Inquirer and Mirror, with support from the Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Nantucket Culture and Tourism Department.
