A night at the Opera

The Great Harbor Yacht Club took on a retro glow Saturday night as the Artists Association of Nantucket threw its annual summer gala, this year in honor of photographer and island native Michael Gaillard. In a tribute to Gaillard's family legacy, the evening featured a reimagining of the old Opera House restaurant and bar — complete with vintage décor, live piano music, and a nod to the vibrant cultural scene of 1945, when both the Opera House and AAN first came onto the island stage.
