Behind every great performance is a script, and on Saturday night the writers got their due. The annual Screenwriters Tribute was held at the 'Sconset Casino to honor three of the industry's most compelling voices behind the scenes. Tony Gilroy received the Visionary Storyteller Award for a career of complex scripts from Michael Clayton to Andor; Alex Gibney was recognized for Special Achievement in Documentary Storytelling, with a body of work that pulls back the curtain on power and corruption; and Joanna Calo earned the Excellence in Television Writing award for her emotionally charged writing on The Bear and beyond.
