The new moon might not be visible from Earth, but its power shone brightly last weekend at the annual NEW Moon Festival. Hosted at the 'Sconset Casino, the event featured a compelling lineup of women-directed short films from around the world, exploring themes from mental health and identity to childhood trauma and aging. Delivering heart, humor, and insight, the evening was a hit — and proof that great stories don't need a big budget or a long runtime to leave an impression. Proceeds went to Nantucket Community Television.
