Every year at this time, the Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce honors its members who best exemplify the mission of the local chamber to foster, promote, and advocate for Nantucket's economic vitality and unique quality of life, to the benefit of all the island’s businesses and community. This year’s honorees included Millie’s Restaurant as an enduring “legacy business,”Antiques Depot as an outstanding small business, Nantucket Island Safe Harbor for Animals for its dedication to community service and animal welfare, and both the Town of Nantucket Culture & Tourism Department and Nantucket Book Festival for visitor engagement and advocacy of the island’s culture. The Tavern and Gazebo received the Spirit of Nantucket award.
