History hits the beach

The Nantucket Historical Association brought its annual Community Day to Children’s Beach last week. The event, inspired by NHA’s 2026 exhibition The Wider World & Scrimshaw, featured activities and demonstrations exploring Nantucket’s maritime culture and traditional crafts. Members of the Mashpee Wampanoag community added to the afternoon with a participatory song and dance performance.
