Half a century in bloom

The Nantucket Daffodil Flower Show celebrated its milestone 50th edition over the weekend with a change of scenery and no shortage of blooms. This year’s event moved to the Nantucket Inn for the first time, where more than 1,500 people turned out to take in the display. Sponsored by the Nantucket Garden Club and accredited by the American Daffodil Society, the two-day show featured more than 1,4000 entries across horticulture classes, all tied to this year’s theme of “50 years of sunny faces, 50 years of smiles and cheers, 50 years of daffodils — still blooming year on year!”
