Nantucket's next wave of artists and environmentalists gathered in Polpis on Thursday for the annual Friends Fête. The summer bash, hosted by the Nantucket Land & Water Council and Almanack Arts Colony, served up fresh seafood and cocktails, with live music and dancing under the stars. This year's crowd got an extra dose of inspiration at a special pre-party, where Christian Cummings, executive director of Nonhuman Teachers, sparked a conversation about how science, art, and imagination can help us rethink our relationship with the natural world.
