Hundreds of runners and walkers gathered at Milestone Cranberry Bog on Saturday for the 25th annual Race for Open Space, a fundraiser supporting the Nantucket Conservation Foundation and its mission to protect the island’s landscapes and natural resources. Runners competed in either a 5K or 10K, while others opted for the two-mile walk. In the 5K Nantucketers Morry Cardona and Annecy Kagan topped the men's and women’s fields with winning times of 18:29 and 21:46, respectively. Owen Holland of Newton captured the 10K overall title in 40:02, while Connecticut’s Taylor Mitchell was the top female finisher with a time of 46:53.
